The 7th Guest Remake is out, and so far it does seem to be having troubles on PC, people don’t seem to like the fact that it has been remade in this way, and it also makes all of the puzzles easier. If there is a thing games like this should aim for is to at least retain the difficulty level or make it even harder. Alas, people don’t seem to have patience and imagination to solve these anymore so they quickly give up on these kinds of games. That very same set people also don’t tend to buy games like this, so why even lower the quality for them?
The 7th Guest Remake is out
It is out, and its also messy, many people are giving it good reviews based on nostalgia, but those who caught on and know what’s up are reviewing it negatively because there’s no reason to play this over the original. Remakes show that developers cannot come up with new things and have to rely on old concepts to ensure that they can sell something while clinging to the past. The big issue with this? Budget is wasted on old things that nobody will like versus new IPs that bring new ideas.
The 7th Guest Remake suffers the same kind of illness that all of the other remakes in the industry suffer, it caters to basically no one, except the people who want to see the game with new shiny graphics at the cost of the original artistic vision. It is safe to say that most of the people involved with the original game didn’t even take part in the production of The 7th Guest Remake, so its inherently against their vision. The industry keeps giving us things like this, and people is starting to grow tired of it.
