Tales of Eternia Remastered is coming out in 2026 for the PC platform, being the first time a classic Tales game that uses the Linear Motion Battle System drops on the system. This is great, because the good Tales games usually aim to use the systems that have defined the series. Other entries in the franchise feel rather merged with other action RPG games to the point they don’t really feel unique. Back in the SNES days, you could make action RPGs, but it was an artistic choice not to, hence why the Tales series is so beloved by many, because it was original.
Tales of Eternia Remastered coming soon
This game was huge back in the day, and it also dropped in a time the PS1 was pretty much phased out by the PS2. Despite that, the game saw success in sales at the time, which might have been helped by the fact that the PS2 is retro compatible with many PS1 games. A ton of games sadly don’t get that sort of luck, Final Fantasy 9 for example was a sales failure according to Squaresoft back in the day, despite being one of the best entries in the system.
Tales of Eternia Remastered will bring the legendary story back, and allows us to switch between a remastered version, and a version of what we remember back in the day. This is great because most of the time remastered editions of games tend to suffer the big issues that they just don’t look that good. I believe they have tried their best trying to bring this game to modern displays, but nothing beats the look of the original game when it was running on a CRT. If you never played Tales of Eternia, Tales of Eternia Remastered is your best bet to do so.
