Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 Season 2 Brings Back Calypso Casino and Remasters Dokkaebi

Ubisoft has officially unveiled the full details for Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 Season 2, titled Operation System Override, confirming the return of a legendary franchise location and a substantial mechanical overhaul for one of its veteran operators. Dropping on June 2, the upcoming expansion centers heavily on tactical nostalgia by reintroducing the Calypso Casino map, a fan-favorite environment originally featured in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas and its sequel.

The reimagined casino level has been rebuilt from the ground up to fit the destruction physics and close-quarters structural design of Siege. Revealed over the weekend during a major competitive event in Salt Lake City, Utah, the map represents a deliberate callback to the franchise’s single-player and tactical roots. Alongside the new venue, Ubisoft is deploying visual and lighting enhancements to three existing maps: Emerald Plains, Kanal, and Outback.

Beyond the map roster changes, the core gameplay balance will shift dramatically with a comprehensive remaster of the attacking operator Dokkaebi. Her original Logic Bomb camera-hacking ability is being replaced by the Jegeo Payload, a malware gadget that targets an individual defender’s phone. If the affected player fails to disable the device in time, the phone detonates, inflicting 40 horsepower of direct damage and igniting a localized fire that can harm both the target and nearby teammates. To offset this lethality, the gadget features a shorter duration but offers quicker cooldown periods and more charges.

The update further introduces the XK23 assault rifle as a selectable primary weapon for Dokkaebi, Sens, and Ram. Players can also expect Ranked Overhaul 3.0, a major balancing pass that extends the gadget ranges for Pulse, Mozzie, and Nomad, and enhancements to Gridlock’s Track Stingers. Console players will receive native mouse and keyboard support later in the season. Operation System Override follows a high-profile Year 11 launch that crossed over with Konami’s Metal Gear series, signaling Ubisoft’s continued aggressive content roadmap for the long-running live-service shooter.

Playground Games Confirms 15-to-20 Hour Campaign for Fable Reboot Playground Games has confirmed that the upcoming Fable reboot will feature a mainline story lasting between 15 and 20 hours. Speaking during a group press session at Gamescom 2026, associate game director Will Kennedy outlined the scope of the project, stating that the central questline is paired with a similar 15-to-20-hour block of side quests and open-world exploration. Beyond authored content, the developers emphasized that the title’s simulation and life systems allow for indefinite play depending on player investment. Full coverage of the interview context can be found in Polygon’s developer Q&A. This targeted duration keeps the reboot in line with the structure of Lionhead Studios' original trilogy rather than the massive scale of modern role-playing games. The 2004 original averaged roughly 12.5 hours for its main path, while Fable II and Fable III clocked in at approximately 13 and 13.5 hours respectively. By keeping the core path concise, Playground Games appears focused on density and narrative pacing rather than padding out the experience with mandatory filler. Community reception to the announcement has leaned positive, particularly among veteran players who prefer tightly structured campaigns over 100-hour commitments. As discussed in a active Reddit community thread, many players welcomed the focused runtime, noting that the series' signature alignment shifts and choice-driven paths naturally encourage multiple playthroughs. The game’s optional activities will include property ownership, local employment, and dynamic NPC interactions, extending gameplay well past the main story credits. Following previous delays, Fable is scheduled to launch on February 23, 2027, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
