Paralives reimagines how The Sims should be, and it already does a way better job compared to the current entries. This new PC game is clearly made to capture the failing market of the Sims series, now that Electronic Arts is fumbling the bag with the Saudi Arabia deals. People already feel more safe with this indie studio than with the big company that has been going on for decades now. Honestly I can’t fault them, Paralives already shows much more quality compared to the games Electronic Arts produces, and I’m still surprised the company remains with that name.
Paralives is out
While not fully complete, Paralives does offer a ton of things to do even if it is in early access format, not to mention that it also sits on a 10% discount to really make you want to get it. It already has way more content than the base version of the current Sims game, and it will clearly don’t deal with the issue of being bloated on DLCs. I still can’t fathom why The Sims has so many DLCs but it is clear that Electronic Arts wants to force people to pay up so they can get all of the cash.
Paralives is an indie, a true indie that aims to bring back the good old days of when The Sims used to be a franchise people respected. There is a ton of games that have tried imitating them but I feel like Paralives is the only one that manages to do it well. If there is something I put my faith in these days, at least when it comes to the game industry, is that indie developers will carry the medium forward. As we see triple A studios failing to please people, more of us join the current indie revolution.
