Insomniac has revealed when we can finally get an extended look at their upcoming Wolverine which is set to release this fall and is definitely one of the most hotly anticipated titles this year, even with Rockstar’s open world behemoth GTA 6 looming on the horizon. After the studio scored double whammy victories with all the Spider-Man games from the recent years, both fans and players are eager to see what Insomniac can pull off with Wolverine and thankfully, we don’t have to wait much longer to find out as the game is all set to get a deep dive during the newly announced State of Play event that will take place on June 2.
The hour-long event will kick off with a whole new look on Insomniac’s Wolverine along with new gameplay and combat breakdown plus story details. And while the previous trailer served as an adequate first-look at the game, the incoming State of Play will contain much more meatier details and thorough overview on Wolverine, possibly including one or more new trailers encompassing both it’s gameplay and story elements.
And as for the official release date, Insomniac’s Wolverine is currently slated to arrive on September 15 this year, which is about as ‘safe’ as a launch window can possibly get in 2026 considering GTA 6 is scheduled for November.
After the phenomenal success of Marvel’s Spider Man and Spider Man 2, Insomniac’s upcoming Wolverine game has garnered a ton of anticipation and hype cause just like Spider Man, Wolverine can also be a driver for amazing gameplay which could easily result in a great game, especially in the capable hands of Insomniac. The way Insomniac took Spider-Man and pretty much reinvented him up to the towering standards of current-gen AAA gaming, from both technical and mechanical standpoints, it sure looks like they could pull off the same with Wolverine as well, especially after the first teaser which looks pretty awesome and true to the iconic Marvel character.
