Forza Horizon 6 has been leaked and people are playing it early thanks to some pirated downloads on PC, at least that’s what it was said because Playground Games has decided to nuke this people with 8000 year bans. This was a massive decision to undertake, but it was the right call considering it can harm the game in the long run. If my game was leaked for some reason, I would have also done that to prevent any sort of malicious activity from happening in online hubs, after all they didn’t pay for the game. I will admit, banning them for 8000 years is insanity however.
Forza Horizon 6 tries to recover
Forza Horizon 6 has a ton of weight to deal with, especially with the disastrous release issue that caused the game to exist earlier than anticipated. The fact that people can pick it up right now is crazy and this can end in tons of sales being lost in the process. Banning is the ideal way, especially if there’s a way to unban yourself by buying the official release and supporting the developers. Nobody wants to see their hard work being snatched away, so while the decision might have been extreme for some, it really was the most sensible choice.
In Forza Horizon 6, we will explore Japan and race in many popular tracks based in real life information the team of Playground Games managed to gather, Forza Horizon is a series that always focuses on realism and doing things the right way. Hopefully this controversy does not offset sales numbers for the game because all of the love that has been put into it might not even be worth it if it does not sell well. If this were an indie game, maybe it could do away with selling some few copies, but that’s really not the case.
