Playground Games has released a staggering set of player statistics celebrating the first seven days of Forza Horizon 6, confirming that the racing title has broken series records following its May 19 launch. The community has already invested more than 141 million hours into the game’s virtual depiction of Japan, accumulating a combined 35 trillion in-game credits and driving over 20 billion miles across its diverse regional biomes.
The studio’s metrics reveal an exceptionally active player base across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms. Within the first week, drivers secured 18 million festival wristbands, customized their vehicles with 63 million unique liveries, and captured 184 million photos. The data also highlighted gameplay engagement with specific regional activities, noting that players completed 19 million Raku Raku deliveries and destroyed nearly 380 million roadside mascots.
Alongside the traditional gameplay achievements, the developer acknowledged community feedback regarding aggressive AI behavior. The official infographic made a lighthearted nod to “bowie knife99,” a notorious AI Drivatar that has quickly drawn widespread attention from players for its overly competitive driving style. Playground Games addressed these concerns, confirming that updates are underway to balance opponent difficulty and fix pacing issues reported since launch.
Looking ahead, the studio confirmed that this initial launch window is just the foundation for its post-launch roadmap. The first major content drop arrives this July with the Italian Passion Car Pack, which will be followed by two larger, unannounced expansions currently in active development. However, the franchise faces looming competition in the open-world racing genre; Lighthouse Games, a studio formed by Playground Games co-founder Gavin Raeburn, is currently developing a rival title explicitly designed to challenge the established Horizon formula.
