Die in the Dungeon is a crazy PC roguelite that describes itself as a Dice Building game and it honestly lives up to the name considering all of the things you tend to do in the game. This is yet another game made by a small studio that is getting published by two companies this time, I don’t know what the deal is with having these many publishers but maybe they needed some sort of financial help. Breaking through the sea of releases is a tough thing to do, especially for a fledgling indie developer, sometimes things need to stop being indie.
Die in the Dungeon is out
After years of development, release 1.0 is finally out marking the end of development for this game, of course more updates might come in the future, but when it comes to a game that has fully released out of early access this is it. Sometimes these types of ventures don’t pay off, and early access games end up being cancelled or their development halts with a sudden 1.0 version, thankfully that does not seem the case for Die in the Dungeon. However, I’ve covered games that suffered such fate coming from other developers.
Releasing things in early access is a double edged sword, while I see tons of positives for the practice I don’t believe it should be used as a crutch to develop things at all. People need to learn that sometimes stuff just does not cater to them, but when you need free testers it can pretty much be an useful tool. Die in the Dungeon has tons of passion put behind it, so if you are interested in playing something interesting, perhaps you should grab this one. If you don’t have the money to spare the 35% sale, maybe you should wishlist it.
