If you own a PS5 Pro, you’ll be glad to know that the upcoming 007 First Light will be utilizing the upgraded PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling by default from launch day, making the image quality considerably more detailed and crisper than what’s possible in any other console out there. Which means not only will 007 First Light look noticeably better on the PS5 Pro, there won’t be any compromise in terms of framerate either so you can get super smooth 60 FPS with all around great looking visuals with full RT glory.
As stated in an official blog post, the “Upgraded PSSR brings a clear step up in image quality across the world of 007 First Light, from the dense foliage of outdoor environments to the close-up detail of character work in cinematic moments. The improvements are most visible in the kinds of scenes that have traditionally been the hardest for upscalers to handle.”
Also, finer elements such as hair, fabrics and other will look much more detailed in 007 First Light on the PS5 Pro which will make the cinematics and character interactions feel even more alive.
“Upgraded PSSR gave us a meaningful jump in image quality across the board — cleaner, more stable, and noticeably sharper on the kind of fine detail that’s hardest to get right. It’s a clear upgrade for our PS5 Pro players” states Henrik Schlichter, Technical Director of IO Interactive.
The upgraded PSSR has also been implemented for titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, Control, Crimson Desert, Monster Hunter Wilds, Assassin’s Creed Shadows and more, making them look and feel even better on the PS5 Pro and certainly the best visual experience you can get among all consoles.
007 First Light boasts an impressive, star studded cast of Dexter: Original Sin’s Patrick Gibson as the new James Bond, Fear the Walking Dead’s Lennie James as Bond’s mentor John Greenway, Priyanga Burford as M, Alastair Mackenzie as Q, Kiera Lester as Moneypenny and Noémie Nakai as Miss Roth.
007: First Light will launch across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC on May 27.
