Tropico 7 is coming out in 2026, and to reinforce this fact we just got a trailer showcasing some gameplay of what we can expect of this new PC entry. Tropico has been running for years now, at the very least since 2009 judging from Tropico Reloaded’s listing date on Steam. It might be older than that considering the game has a vibe to it similar to popular retro RTS or simulation games of the time. At the very least the series has been running for 2 decades already, and considering how long games take to be made they even exist for more time than what the consumer eyes might see.
Tropico 7 coming soon
The gamplay in Tropico 7 is what we can expect, nothing bold or entirely new, just another good sequel that does the right thing of building up on what already exists and adding some little touches on it. For wild ideas and experimentation, Spinoff games exists for series but as far as I know Tropico does not really have a strong presence in the spinoff sector. There’s a ton of games to play through however in case you like delving into the history of franchises that have lasted for decades, but most people don’t bother doing that to my dismay.
Tropico 7 is the newest iteration, and considering there does not seem to be any overarching plot you can just jump into the newest entry and get introduced to things as someone completely new. Maybe this will hook you up and get you buying the newer sequels if they ever release, or perhaps you will want more of it to the point you end up buying the older ones. There’s tons of things to do in this City Builder with political elements, and you will try to get rich, or die trying to accomplish it!
