Phonopolis is coming very soon, to be precise it will be releasing in May 20th of 2026 according to the release date trailer, this is the newest addition to the catalogue of amazing games made by Amanita Design. There’s a ton of things to expect from this and considering how many of the games produced by Amanita Design are so good I have no doubts that this one will also be yet another piece of artwork that gives a lot to think about. I did mention this game before in a news piece, mostly when it got announced, and it really deals with some very dystopian ideas.
Phonopolis is coming soon
It will be in a month, but we can expect a great game from this, Amanita Design has always cared to provide the best narrative in very unique ways. It really feels like games that show more than tell, and its up to the people who play them to grasp all the meaning by themselves. This game isn’t only coming to Steam, but its also dropping on Epic Games Store and GOG. I genuinely recommend you to get the GOG version to directly support the developer and also own the game forever as an installer.
Phonopolis tells us a dystopian story of the only man who tries to resist a dictatorship regime, by being unable to listen to the commands of the Leader due to him having a pair of work headsets. Our curious situation will allow us to topple the leader and restore Phonopolis into what it was, so we have to solve tons of puzzles to be able to achieve this. The aesthetic is supreme, and I love how the game looks, I’m very sure the ending will also have some interesting implications to analyze, as it always happens with many works by Amanita Design.
