Shenmue III Enhanced has been announced for PC and so far it looks pretty good. Sega isn’t really involved with this franchise anymore due to the reputation it has, and now it remains with the people who made them and another company in charge. Step back into the world of Shenmue III with the Enhanced Edition, which is the latest release of Yu Suzuki’s legendary adventure series. Faithful to its roots yet enriched with modern improvements, this enhanced version offers the most polished and accessible way to experience the last journey of Ryo Hazuki that released way back in 2019.
Shenmue III Enhanced is coming
We still don’t know when this entry will drop, but we can assume that it will happen soon considering its slated for a 2026 release, I would be surprised if it does not drop this year but considering the track record behind delays in these games anything can happen. The series is known for being very old, a game that spawned way back during the Dreamcast era and which was pretty much the reason we have Yakuza too. Between many delays and bumps along the road, the series has suffered high and lows through the time.
Hopefully, Shenmue III Enhanced is an excellent opportunity for people to jump into the latest entry while waiting for the release of Shenmue 4, which the developers mentioning they actually want to make a fourth part for this long running series. Whenever that thing comes it will obviously be made with Unreal Engine 5 in mind, and might perhaps face a ton of challenges ahead considering development for these games is always so very slow. Shenmue was console defining way back in the Dreamcast era back in 1999. It is crazy that Shenmue III Enhanced is coming out while we could get the same treatment for the other games.
