REPLACED is a new 2.5D game of the platformer genre that is looking very nice on PC, the 2D HD Style really looks very cool to look at, and I’m very soon that it is an even more impressive game in motion. This might be a resurrection of a genre of games that usually does not get enough recognition, Cinematic Platforming, which was extremely popular in the 90s and was carried in multiple consoles and even computers. Oddworld might be a familiar name to some, and for others it might trigger some memories, mostly of how hard that game was, so perhaps this might be a tough one too.
REPLACED’s new demo is cool
We play as an AI that awakens inside of a human body, and we must explore an America in a cyberpunk version of the 80s, the game will be heavily driven by its narrative much to the like of most cinematic platformers, it is so nice that we are going back to the roots with the genre. After the cancellation of the Prince of Persia remake, we really need some small companies to make some sort of replacement in the Cinematic Platformer genre, so its nice to see this is being done with REPLACED.
Quite ironic that a double A game is replacing something made by a triple A company but here we are, it keeps proving that the industry would be in a terrible position if we didn’t have people like the average game developer and creative. REPLACED looks like quite the work of art and its coming quite soon too, in March 12th of this year we will have the opportunity to play it in full once it comes out. If you are hyped about it, try out the demo, and if you liked it perhaps you should wishlist it.
