Nioh 3 will be hacking and slashing it’s way to both Windows PC and the Playstation 5 on February 6 or this Friday, but if you’re on other consoles, don’t count yourself out from Team Ninja’s upcoming action title yet as there’s a strong possibility that it could release on both the Xbox systems as well as the Nintendo Switch 2 sooner than you may expect.
According to a small print revealed in the newest trailer for Nioh 3, the PS5 exclusivity period for the upcoming game looks set to be for only six months which indirectly means that the hack-n-slash title could effectively release on the Xbox Series X|S and the Nintendo Switch 2 as early as the first week of August this year. This will also make Nioh 3 the first game in the series to make it’s way to consoles other than the PS5 which is great cause players on other platforms will also be able to experience the upcoming action title.
And although this isn’t officially confirmed in any way or publisher Koei Techmo may release Nioh 3 well beyond six months later on the other consoles but still it’s a promising news for both players and the publishers as it opens up the possibility for the game to be played by a whole lot more gamers which is always great for the genre.
The Hack-n-Slash subgenre belongs to a really niche category of games that makes far less amount of profit than most other blockbuster level genres out there and from that perspective, the possibility of Nioh 3 coming out on both Xbox as well as on the Switch 2 makes a lot of sense cause the increased playerbase could easily see more sales and revenue which games like these really need.
