Besides Rockstar’s upcoming open world behemoth Grand Theft Auto 6, one of the most anticipated titles of this year is Insomniac Games’ Wolverine, but it seems we may have to wait just a bit longer to see any official gameplay reveal or similar contents regarding the game as it won’t be featured in the upcoming State of Play event from Sony.
According to the developers themselves who have recently replied to an user on X/Twitter, the closest we can get for more official info on Marvel’s upcoming Wolverine is ‘Spring 2026.’ This also clearly means there won’t be anything on the upcoming game in State of Play this year which is all set to kick off tomorrow afternoon.
Then there’s also the possibility of Marvel’s Wolverine slipping into next year cause between the Spring of this year and fall 2026, it’s currently doubtful whether there will be enough time to build the necessary amount of hype cause it’s already confirmed that the marketing campaign for GTA 6 is about to begin this summer which may end up obscuring pretty much anything out there.
Recently, the developers have also dropped a rather telling hint that possibly teases Daredevil, another highly popular anti-hero from Marvel, appearing in the game at some point. There have been subtle references to the character in both Spider-Man titles which means it’s probably a matter of time before we finally see him in some capacity, in a future game which is likely going to be Wolverine.
After the phenomenal success of Marvel’s Spider Man and Spider Man 2, Insomniac’s upcoming Wolverine game has garnered a ton of anticipation and hype cause just like Spider Man, Wolverine can also be a driver for amazing gameplay which could easily result in a great game, especially in the capable hands of Insomniac. The way Insomniac took Spider-Man and pretty much reinvented him up to the towering standards of current-gen AAA gaming, from both technical and mechanical standpoints, it sure looks like they could pull off the same with Wolverine as well, especially after the first teaser which looks pretty awesome and true to the iconic Marvel character.
