Even though it came out nearly a year ago, Assassin’s Creed Shadows still has a few neat tricks up it’s sleeve as the latest update for Ubisoft’s open world action adventure title introduces the option to jump manually while also bringing multiple gameplay improvements that will make the overall experience more polished and smoother, for all players.
The latest update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to come out today, February 17 with three key improvements and the first one is a detailed stats sheet which will provide you with a more thorough view on all your in-game items and equipment, allowing you to manage your loadout on a micro level more easily. The second addition is improved visual feedback on enemies’ health bars whenever you land a critical hit, resulting in a much better feel during combat situations.
And then there’s the all-new option for manual jumping which will definitely add more depth and nuance to Shadows’ complex movement system while also allowing more customizability to the parkour experience. This new gameplay feature, which you can turn on or off from the “Advanced Parkour” option in the menu, will let you jump anytime and anywhere, outside of the series’ boxed-in and massively contextual movement system. The Manual jump has the potential to add more variety and fluidity to your parkour pathways in Assassin’s Creed Shadows which could breathe new life into the game in several ways.
And to celebrate this new gameplay feature, Ubisoft has also announced a parkour challenge where players can create and submit their own 60-sec parkour segments utilizing the manual jump option. The best videos will be rewarded with signed vinyl albums, cool figurines and other exciting prizes so if you love the parkour in Shadows, you should totally participate in the challenge. And lastly, Ubisoft has also announced that the Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will receive the Claws of Awaji expansion on March 10.
