Esoteric Ebb has been revealed, and you can even try out a demo thanks to the Steam Next Fest that February has brought to us, the full game will release on March 3th, so get ready to experience something new that feels like the most acclaimed game of past years. This time it is clear that the vibes of this one are very comedic compared to the rest, and the art style is also on point, the usage of 3D assets really makes it stand apart from other titles in the Next Fest. Perhaps you should give this game a spot in your wishlist if you so desire.
Esoteric Ebb is coming soon
Deeply inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, Esoteric Ebb tries to take a spin in the usual gritty campaign and fills it with tons of comedy to enjoy, there will be of course events and plot beats that will diverge from this, but it is clear that the main vibe is pure fun. You can opt to become the best cleric of all time, playing the game as intended and solving everything in the most regular way possible, but you can also opt to be disruptive and even make the campaign fail.
It is up to you to pick your fate in this kind of games, and that’s what makes them highly replayable, finding every ending, every interaction, and picking every single possible option wouldn’t be possible in any other kind of structure due to the fact that these kind of game systems make it work. Take it as if you are playing some sort of tabletop campaign with your friends, games like Esoteric Ebb and Disco Elysium are a new evolution of making tabletop games into the digital format. Honestly, I might end up getting this one when it comes out.
