After 8 years of waiting, Atom RPG 2 appears out of nowhere, making waves in the PC CRPG community especially those who are fans of the Fallout series. Atom RPG is what Fallout should be right now, but Bethesda abandoned that for gun play rather than proper strategy. It is nice to see that we still have indie teams crafting amazing narratives around post apocalyptic scenarios, especially when they try to make an homage for such an influential series like Fallout. Atom RPG 2 still has no released date but we can assume it might be coming soon in 2026.
Atom RPG 2 is coming
For those who have been waiting for a while, this is a surprise, and it feels like the best step AtomTeam could have given considering that the other games from that company do not seem to be doing very hot. It is always better to return to the name sake of the company and do what they do best, creating post apocalyptic CRPGs with lots of decision making. If you wish to feel how this sequel can play out, the best you can do is try out the previous entry to get a feel of what’s going on.
Unfortunately it does not come with a demo, which is a huge disservice for people who want to make sure they are putting money in something they like. Thankfully refunding on Steam is an easy process if you do it quick, yet I feel you won’t have to do so if you are a retro Fallout fan who has been craving for more games like this. This entry seems to include side activities such as fishing and even racing, which are crazy additions that don’t seem to be present in the original game, if you seek for something more akin to an expansion, then Atom RPG 2 should be that.
