The upcoming WWE 2K26 is shaping up to be quite a blast from the past as it’s offering a chance for players to relieve the classic rivalry between the wrestlers of WWE and WCW that took place in the 90s. During the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event special on January 24, the most expansive edition of WWE 2K26 was announced and it’s named the Monday Night War Edition featuring iconic wrestlers from that time period such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker and more in it’s cover photo which is sure to send all older viewers of WWE on a trip down memory lane.
The Monday Night Raw Edition of WWE 2K26 is available for pre-order from January 30.
Also, as confirmed previously, WWE 2K26 will have a different edition of the game titled The Attitude Era edition which also features many iconinc wrestlers from the 90s as it’s cover photo. However, the cover for the standard edition of WWE 2K26 is yet to be revealed but will be in the coming weeks as the game is slated to be released in the next few months.
It was previously revealed that CM Punk will be the focus of the Showcase mode of WWE 2K26 and players will be able to recreate many of the superstar’s most memorable and pivotal matches from his long career. There will also be four new type of matches where one will be completely new (the Dumpster Match) to the series while three match types will be returning from much older entries of the series which are the Inferno Match, I Quit Match and the 3-Stages-of-Hell match.
Also, the open world Island Mode which debuted in last year’s WWE 2K25 will also be returning with a brand new storyline that’s sure to be at least as engaging and memorable as it has been in the previous title.
