EA has officially announced that the upcoming Season 2 in both Battlefield 6 and Battlefield Redsec will now start from February 17 instead of the previously set date of January 21.
“During our ongoing development, we’ve continued to review community feedback and, in order to keep our promise, determined that our best path forward is to extend Season 1 and give ourselves extra time to further polish and refine Season 2.”
“Season 1 will be extended past its in-game end date of January 20, and we will launch Season 2 on February 17. The Season 1 extension update to Battlefield 6 and REDSEC will be released on January 20, which will include new weekly challenges, a Bonus Path, and a continuation of the Season 1 Battle Pass until the start date of Season 2.”
The decision to delay the next season in Battlefield 6 so it would provide the devs more time to polish and perfect the host of new contents certainly sound like a fair trade-off in many ways, especially considering that season 1 contained several areas of complaints from the players. So EA taking a little bit more time to make sure that the next season in Battlefield 6 really delivers on everything the players of the franchise expects, do sound welcome at this point.
Also, as a sort of compensation for this delay, EA will be providing all players a new “Frostfire Bonus Path” which includes new customization rewards along with XP boosts such as free Hardware XP Boost, a Vehicle Skin along with player card customization items. And if you have the game’s Battle Pass you’ll be able get a new weapon package plus career XP boost as well which sound pretty neat.
“Unlike previous Bonus Paths, all Bonus Path Points for the Frostfire Bonus Path are earned through Weekly Challenges; there are no Bonus Challenges associated with this Bonus Path.,” EA states.
Battlefield 6 has built an incredible momentum since it’s release last year and the upcoming roadmap for next year which promises a steady stream of exciting in-game contents, could lead to an even bigger surge in it’s player base.
