WWE 2K24 got only around a month left in it’s official calendar as publisher 2K Sports has confirmed the popular sports title will be de-listed effectively on January 31, 2026 with all with servers finally shutting down on March 31 next year. And even though the official notice was disclosed on WWE 2K24’s Steam page, the closure of all servers will also apply to the console versions of the game. As publisher 2K described, after the servers finally go off on WWE 2K24, “all game functions requiring online servers will no longer function.”
However, even after the servers are no longer available, the offline modes in WWE 2K24 such as the Play Now and Showcase will continue to be playable so you can still enjoy all the offline contents of the game just as before. Also, all forms of digital currency along with every available DLC and add-on for the game will be removed from sale on January 31, 2026, along with the game itself, as stated by 2K.
And while this can come across as kind of a bummer, it’s important to remember that the severs of WWE 2K24 have been available for about two years now with around a year after the release of it’s successor WWE 2K25 which has been deemed as a better game in most ways and players who will decide to get into the newer WWE 2K title is pretty much guaranteed to enjoy it more than it’s predecessor. So while it’s certainly a bit of a letdown to witness the servers go dark in the older game, this year’s WWE 2K25 will make it up in more ways than one.
The most ambitious entry in the long running series, WWE 2K25 was met with fairly positive reviews upon release with critics praising the numerous gameplay improvements and the overall number of tweaks that was implemented to make it stand out from it’s predecessor.
