Slay the Spire 2 developers are committing to the bit of randomness. The sequel exists thanks to a coin flip that would decide if they would make a different project altogether or not, randomness is truly an amazing thing in life. Slay the Spire is known for being based in the whole concept of randomness and every element of it is decided by precise algorithms that attempt simulating it. Computers fail at giving us true random like real life does, so the only way to do it is cram enough numbers into them to give us multiple scenarios that would take a while to experience all of them, if ever.
Slay the Spire 2 is coming
Slay the Spire 2 is going to be amazing, the gameplay trailer already shows great promise because its just going to be more of what works. More games should often go the route of doing the same over and over with each sequel because it gives a sense of familiarity to people when they buy something. Games like Dragon Quest thrive on the fact that they are timeless, because game genres and design ideas don’t really get outdated when you think about it since they are art. The Mona Lisa is timeless, and since games are art rather than just a product, they have the ability to be timeless too.
Mega Crit commits to pure randomness and they actually wanted to make and action game instead of Slay the Spire 2, however, destiny smiled upon the person who loves card games and the 50% resulted on his favor. Now Mega Crit is happily working on a worthy successor to one of the biggest indie games that isn’t leaving the Top 100 PC games ever. If you are curious to try out this awaited sequel, add it to your wishlist.
