Middle Management is quite the interesting indie title coming at an unspecified date for PC. This satirical take in the average office building job environment is quite ingenious, as it represents the oppressive atmosphere of companies with a cute octopus in a sort of corporate memphis style. We play as the aforementioned creature, and our task is to manipulate our employees properly and ensure they are efficient enough. Some may want to quit, but we have to make them understand that they must accept the conditions they are going through, embrace the tentacle instead of avoiding it.
Middle Management gets revealed
To ensure the company is efficient, we have to manipulate the brain of our employees and ensure they are built just how we like them. While creepy, all of this is social satire of things that technically do happen, at least not in the over the top level shown by Middle Management. There’s tons of issues with modern work culture, so it is nice to see an indie title trying to aim towards these issues and critique them. And while we are playing as the oppressor, it might help us understand how any of these things even work in the first place.
Of course, the point is to be efficient, so this opens itself to a very particular kind of video game cruelty potential that some players might not enjoy. This game might not be for everyone but I believe that whenever it releases it might be an instant hit and many might try it out. There does not seem to be any proper date set for the title to release, but we can assume it will come in 2026. If you are interested in a game about Middle Management, perhaps you should wishlist this title to help the developers out and boost them in Valve’s algorithm.
