Kingdom of Night is essentially Persona in Miami, and if that idea sounds wild to you then perhaps it’s time you actually buy this new PC indie title. Published by Dangen, this new indie adventure is filled with tons of variety and it also gives a very interesting spin in the usual Action RPG formula, which is currently saturated with thousands of Dark Souls clones that fail to compete with the main material. For people who want to try some Urban Fantasy, then this game also caters to the right demography, and the best part of it all is that since it’s an indie it is rather cheap to buy.
Kingdom of Night is out
Kingdom of Night has us playing as John, and during the year 1987 a satanic cult takes over Miami transforming everything into a terrible survival inferno. You have the ability to pick what classes you want to play, and while all of this is reminiscent to a certain popular series about demons made by Atlus, that’s where the similarities end. This game actually plays more akin to something like Diablo, and it feels like there’s a ton of nods towards this series once you get into playing it, of course it has its own identity because it does things in an original way.
Oftentimes, indie developers pour their hearts and souls into the things they make, and since game development is a hard task to accomplish for many the more headcount there is in a group helps to make the project better. The art style oozes passion for retro graphics and the gameplay seems tight enough to keep the average player in check in case they decide to take this as a walk in the park. If you don’t have the money to buy it, at the very least you should put Kingdom of Night in your wishlist.
