End of Eden might be the Gothic we aren’t getting in today’s day and age, coming in 2027 for PC of course. There’s still not many details about the game, and from all the details they have given it truly seems fantastic. There’s day and night cycles that will change the behavior of NPCs, a fully evolving world with places to explore and creatures to slay, and also three factions that will shape the way you play the game. For people who loved Gothic, or even Riven, perhaps this is the game you have been waiting for if you don’t want to deal with something buggy like The Elder Scrolls.
End of Eden is coming soon
We might have to wait some months, but it truly is worth it to wait for a game, especially when the developers behind it put their everything into making it. Laughing Fox Games is an indie studio that started making games in 2019 and they have done some very good job at it with small titles. By slowly accruing some cash they are now in a position where they can release something that competes with the triple A market, perhaps this might be a potential Elder Scrolls killer if things go well, but don’t take that for granted.
Each time someone says that something is a franchise killer things usually flop the other way around so I better not jinx it, End of Eden is going to be yet another amazing indie title to play. The triple A industry has been pushing some “AI” slop lately, companies like Activision decided to replace human artists completely and they aren’t recovering from the damage being made. If you want to fail in the video game industry, the first thing you need to do is start implementing generative “AI” into the things you do. Thankfully the developers of End of Eden seem to be genuine people.
