Craftlings might be a new take on games like Lemmings, and depending on the success it manages to have it might spawn a wave of new titles that follow its footsteps. Combining city management with Lemmings is a bold idea if you ask me, and from the trailer alone it seems like the game works together just fine. Indie developers often bring to life the craziest of ideas when you analyze things, because triple A developers are busy reaping the profits of their multi million franchises that seem to big to fail. Thankfully games like Call of Duty might cease to be soon.
Craftlings looks ingenious
It is important to congratulate the developer behind this game because its a very innovative idea, it seems that 2026 will be a strong year for indie games because there’s a ton of creative ones on the pipeline. Denshattack is another one to keep your eyes on and depending on how the year goes by perhaps we will get some more unique things that will mark the year. Hopefully there’s something truly revolutionary coming in 2026, to show that triple A developers shouldn’t be too comfortable by not making new IPs and experimenting.
Risk taking is important in an industry that is meant to try and innovate, and Craftlings is a risk that bigger companies wouldn’t want to partake in. Unfortunately there is other big risk with zero payouts such as generative “AI”, that do nothing to provide any sort of value to products and always lower the quality of them. Goonswarm Games, along with Activision, have been both the victim and the oppressor by falling prey to this scam, but thankfully the developer behind Craftlings does not seem to believe in that nonsensical craze that shall soon fade out. While we wait for RAM prices to normalize, Craftlings is a good option to buy.
