Blizzard Entertainment has officially set the release date for World of Warcraft: Midnight, the second chapter in the Worldsoul Saga. The expansion will launch on March 2, 2026, introducing a new conflict and a wide range of content to Azeroth. As with previous launches, players who purchase the Epic Edition of Midnight will receive three days of early access, allowing them to start their adventure on February 27.
The expansion focuses on a direct threat to the high elven kingdom, requiring players to return to Quel’Thalas. The storyline features the newly risen villain, Xal’atath, who uses the power of the Dark Heart to become the All-Devouring. Her Devouring Host aims to corrupt the radiant Sunwell, which would plunge all of Azeroth into darkness. This critical situation leads to the defense of Silvermoon City and introduces four new zones, including an updated Eversong Woods and the fully developed area of Zul’Aman. Additionally, the conflict brings in the elusive Haranir as the next Allied Race.
Regarding gameplay systems and progression, Midnight will increase the level cap to 90. Players can expect a variety of end-game activities, including eight new dungeons, three raids with a total of nine bosses, and eleven smaller exploration challenges called Delves. The expansion also introduces the new Devourer Demon Hunter specialization, which uses Void energy rather than traditional Fel.
Before the main release, the content schedule includes two important dates for veteran players. The final patch of the current cycle, Patch 11.2.7, will be released on December 2, 2025. This update will provide a prologue to the Midnight story and give expansion owners early access to the player housing system. The full Pre-Patch (12.0), which will include the Devourer Demon Hunter and a pre-expansion event, is expected to launch around January 20, 2026, preparing for the March release.
