Total Chaos is finally out, and the trailer for the game is impressive. There’s also an important mention to do about this, Akira Yamaoka composed a track for the game, and if you are wondering who that is, its the same person who did the soundtrack for Silent Hill. These news are huge, because this game is primarily based around psychological horror, and the compositions of Yamaoka truly fit a game of this caliber. While Konami isn’t giving the man a chance to work on a new Silent Hill game, perhaps he should be taking more jobs for other games, especially PC games.
Total Chaos gets released
This new FPS adventure game set in a psychological horror landscape is filled with tons of things to do and hours of content to enjoy. The visuals are amazing, and its incredible to think that this game began primarily as a DOOM mod, which means that the engine to do them is insanely complex and detailed. For people who don’t know, most FPS are actually mods of already existing games, such as Counter Strike being a derivation from Half Life. The fact that this game was first made on a decades old engine shows how strong games were back then.
Total Chaos is a testament to the fact that oftentimes, one does not have too fix what isn’t broken, as games never really get old despite design shifts happening. Technology evolves, and as we can see, Total Chaos takes advantage of it by porting the entire game into a real engine instead of the modding one. By unshackling yourself from constrained systems, it is possible to do something visually amazing, even if the gameplay isn’t particularly innovative. I am are sure that Total Chaos is going to be a blast to play, so if you are interested, its currently on a 15% discount.
