Publisher Activision has quite officially quashed the most recent in series rumors that may suggest an early access period for the upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Although credible reports from insiders and backend data ignited some speculation, an Activision representative confirmed that nothing will change regarding the date of launch, which remains tentatively planned for Friday, November 14. This will disappoint players who aimed for getting into the Campaign and Zombies modes ahead of the scheduled release date.
Following last week’s rumor that got hold of the early access window from PlayStation Game Size, an iconic source of backend PlayStation Network information, it unveiled that data on the console’s servers listed an even near November 10 release time specifically for the Campaign and Zombies components of the game. However, this came after an earlier insider claim from another established insider, TheGhostOfHope, who also suggested a staggered early release someday in October. Activision later clarified that the above observations on the PSN appeared to have been some error on their part, stating clearly that there will be no early shipping for the game.
For a berth to the November 14 launch confirmation, however, it may ruin the glee of those ready to make home with early gameplay. It comes as a period colored by mixed news for the community. Recently, Activision altered its content approach to erase the use of Reznov Challenge Pack pre-order bonuses for Black Ops 7, making them exclusively available for Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Such decision on the content and pre-order incentive causes bits of division among players.
Nevertheless, developer Treyarch Studios is still bringing out numbers on their content reveals to keep the hype alive. They have revealed that popular and well-requested multiplayer fan-favourite map Nuketown early in the game launch will be available for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on November 20, less than a week after its official launch. Players can also look forward to many remastered classic maps such as Standoff and Meltdown to come shortly after during Season 1, which forms a solid content pipeline post-launch.
