Hytale reveals its price before the game even came out on PC. The legendary game that has been with us for quite a while has been saved from the grasp of the vicious Riot Games who planned to do the wrong things to the game. This Minecraft-like game has actually been made by a group of developers who started as the with the well known Minecraft server known as Hypixel. Hypixel is definitely one of the most popular Minecraft servers, and after getting enough money from that venture, Hytale was born as their first real game.
Hytale’s story is long
It’s been a long decade, announced in 2015, Hypixel started gaining popularity amongst Minecraft Youtubers due to its similarity. However, back in 2020, Riot Games bought the entire project from them and cancelled it, as the game wasn’t really in a finished state 5 years before. Now, the game returns back to the hands of the developers, which plan to give it a 10 year lifespan by making various updates. It will be priced at a very affordable 20 dollars, which is quite a surprise for a game of this caliber and it also mimics Minecraft’s pricing strategy.
Hytale is a procedurally generated game that focuses on RPG aspects more than building and trying to copy Minecraft, as a matter of fact, some of the things in Hytale seem to have been retroactively implemented in recent Minecraft updates. While the game might look like a ripoff, its nice to have some alternatives but it would be better if they could redesign things a little bit. There has been controversies around the game for its decade long history, but the Riot Games one has to be one of the worst. Thankfully, now that the game is back where it belongs it can fully become what was meant to be.
