Unity has a severe vulnerability that puts you at risk if you are a gamer, and puts your customers at risk if you are a developer. This affects everyone, Windows users, and even Linux users, as a matter of fact it seems that Linux users are on higher risk because Unity team can’t be smart enough to release a patch for those systems because they don’t really care about their user base. I always knew that Unity became a rotten company since it got bought out by people associated with EA Games, but I didn’t expect this would get so ugly so quickly, its time to move to a better engine.
Unity has a severe vulnerability, putting your PC at risk
There’s ways to fix it, games like Blasphemous have rolled out patches that can fix your stuff if you update them, you really need to update your software as quickly as possible, and if you are a developer using Unity, perhaps don’t rely on them anymore. There’s plenty of options for developers out there, for instance, LocalThunk is known to use Love2D to have created the hit game Balatro. Popular does not mean good, it just means most well known, one can be a popular criminal, similar to the people behind Unity who tried to impose cuts on poor indie developers.
Godot is another good option if you are just starting in the world of game development, since it is a free open source engine that does everything that Unity does but much better and without really much limitations in performance. I swear every game that comes out of Godot engine ends up being so optimized that it runs in every system without much effort put behind. I do wonder if Helltaker will get updated to protect us, it would be ironic that one of the best games in the engine would harm your PC.
