It seems if you manage to get your hands on a physical version of Battlefield 6, you can start playing the game right away without requiring any additional downloads at all, which is quite a bit of oddity these days as most titles would have you download and install more files on top of all the contents of a physical disc. Some players who had pre-ordered physical copies of Battlefield 6 have reported to receive the game early and have confirmed that no other downloads or installations are needed to play the game, at all.
Moreover, one of the players who have received a physical copy of Battlefield 6 was also asked if the game requires an always-on internet connection even to play the single player campaign which has been the case with most games for a lot of years now. But surprisingly, it turns out it’s entirely possible to play the single player section of the game only through the physical disc and the full game is indeed playable without an internet connection. It also seems the multiplayer servers for Battlefield 6 is already online as well which would be great news for all players of the upcoming title.
In other news of Battlefield 6, developer DICE has also recently teased Naval Warfare for the first person shooter which may arrive at some point in future with the developers stating that “requests for naval warfare have not gone unnoticed, nor have the calls for a certain fan-favorite little helicopter, platoons, and more.”
If Battlefield 6 can indeed incorporate naval combat to it’s multiplayer component, even to a limited degree, it would make the game even better and help the title have a huge leg up on it’s competitor shooter which is Activision’s juggernaut Call of Duty franchise cause the overall range of experience would be incomparably greater than this year’s Black Ops 7.
Battlefield 6 is slated to be released on October 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC platform.
