New World Aeternum just got its final content update for PC players to check out. However, New World Aeternum never accrued any sort of substantial success in the overcrowded market for live service titles. This is due to the fact that people don’t have time in their hands to play many and often opt for 1 or 2 live service games at the same time. This is obvious because these games tend to be massive and infinite until the developer decides to cut down on them like what happened right now. People are starting to realize that live service games aren’t what they seem to be.
New World Aeternum is being sunset
While the game will remain playable until 2026, it is sad that we will have to say goodbye to it. It is clear that this might be happening not only because it wasn’t a success but because the policies of Stop Killing Games are taking toll on games like this. New World Aeternum was met with a decent reception initially, but it failed to impress people because the gameplay was very buggy, not to mention this is an Amazon made game, something that leaves many questions to be answered.
Nobody has time to play this unless this is their first game, as New World Aeternum is a massive multiplayer world filled with tons of things to do that pretty much suck up time out of you compared to other single player games who are just better experiences overall. New World Aeternum was an attempt of Amazon at taking a shot in the live service world but it failed to leave a long lasting impression since it isn’t even known as much as World of Warcraft, many even forgot about this game too. The live service market is finally popping after so long and Amazon is part of the bubble too.
