Based on the recent datamines found by Insider Gaming, Naval Combat is already in development for Battlefield 6 and could be coming to the multiplayer at some point in the future. According to several strings of code unveiled by Insider Gaming, several different vehicles have been listed as currently being in development for Battlefield 6 which include Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boats (RHIB), indicating some form of naval combat tied to the game’s multiplayer mode.
The actual lines of codes read:
Game/GlacierMP/Kits/Vehicle_Neutral_Boat_JetSki
Game/GlacierMP/Kits/Vehicle_Neutral_Boat_RHIB
And if you don’t know already, ‘Glacier’ is the codename for Battlefield 6, while MP refers to Multiplayer.
It was earlier revealed that the devs for Battlefield 6 have acknowledged requests for naval warfare-based content from the game from the community and it seems EA’s flagship title could very well receive some form of naval combat in the near future.
However, it’s unknown at what point we’ll be able to see naval warfare in action in Battlefield 6 and judging by the contents in line for the upcoming seasons of the game, it seems we won’t be getting any of that in the first season as the maps completely lack any water-based areas. However, we might see a full season solely dedicated to naval combat in Battlefield 6 in the near future which would not just inject new life into the game but will take the overall experience to unparalleled heights, resulting in a much greater gameplay value in more ways than one.
One of the big advantages of the Battlefield series against it’s rival Call of Duty is that the former offers a much wider range of gameplay experiences involving not just boots-on-the-ground shooting but also tanks, jets and other forms of multiplayer action. And if Battlefield 6 manages to incorporate naval combat on top of everything else, it’s going to increase that gap even further besides resulting in a much better game in many ways.
