Rumors suggest that the release of the highly coveted Battle Royale mode for Battlefield 6 by Electronic Arts and DICE may happen on the 28th of October, in line with the game content update for Season 1, whose launch has been scheduled for that date. This is an information leak that has been going on for weeks now with the interference of some insiders, but in light of some recent backend data found from the EA Play application, it can be said that it gave more weight for supporting the rumor of a shadow-drop kind of release. Neither the publisher nor the developer has officially confirmed the mode or put a date on it.
Season 1 for Battlefield 6 is separated into three large content updates, with the first of these theoretically due on the last weekend of this month. The data miner Onebattlefield also discovered a passing mention of a completely different content drop from the confirmed seasonal items, rumored for the same date. Wider introduction of a large unannounced mode – just like Warzone was successfully introduced in 2020 – would mean that the onset of the mode would start with absolutely no pre-promotion from the developers.
Apart from the timing of the launch, initial information about the Battle Royale experience itself has also leaked, ravaging from the genre’s familiar standards. The primary environmental hazard seems to be what EA internally has nicknamed the “deadliest ring” in the Battle Royale gore. Unlike the other games which give players a bit of access to go in and step out of the closing circle, the Battlefield 6 version is said to cause immediate death on touch, thus throwing players back into adhering to the shrinking map zones.
Additional leaks provide insight about expected mode structure, including the foundational playlists of the genre: Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads. Uniquely, a mode dubbed Gauntlet is rumored to launch alongside the others. In this variation, several squads will compete through a series of missions, with the lowest-scoring team being eliminated in each mission. The last squad remaining standing after this multi-round challenge will be declared the winner. As with all pre-release data from uncertain sources, players should treat this October 28 date as speculation until it is officially confirmed by either Electronic Arts or DICE.
