Steam Client gets an update that brings some very big changes that might be imperceptible to some but very useful to others. The behemoth of PC gaming keeps getting better and bringing tons of new games to any PC that does not belong to Microsoft. Thanks to Valve and the Linux Foundation, the state of gaming on Linux has become so much better to the point there’s really no point in using Windows for anything anymore, unless you are hopelessly addicted to some Kusoge tier live service game that only bots care about grinding of course.
Steam Client is getting better as we speak
Even Steam Input got a massive upgrade, there’s tons of new changes such as added support for games that use the GameInput API, added support for analog activators on d-pad modes for joysticks and trackpads, added support for the PDP REALMz Wireless Controller for Switch, and more. A ton of controllers, both official and unofficial, are starting to get recognized, even some VR addons that still aren’t out seem to be on the list, alongside a potential new hardware coming from Valve themselves that they still didn’t announce. The Steam client might become the defacto PC ruler if it isn’t already.
There’s many things that point to Valve expanding further in the PC gaming world, and even attempting to breach the now weakened console space to keep slurping more of that market share. It feels as if Valve themselves seeks to become a monopoly, trying to get control of gaming as a whole, if AMD developing a new CPU alongside Valve doesn’t ring some alarm bells for the gaming world, then I don’t know what will when its too late for Microsoft to do anything. Microsoft has lost the race of making consoles work, so did Sony, and now Nintendo seems to be the last one standing to fight off the new Steam Client.
