According to a new report from MP1st, Marvel’s Wolverine is all set for a 2026 release, however no specific date is known as of yet. Also as per the same report, developer Insomniac Games is also currently working on a Venom game as well, with Eddie Brock as the titular character along with Cletus Kasady as Carnage. However, it’s unknown at what stage of production the Venom title is currently at which would indicate it’s possible release window which seems to be 2027 at the earliest.
This past week it was revealed that the trailer for Insomniac’s Wolverine is already finished and it’s currently expected to be showcased with utmost certainty at Sony’s next State of Play. But if for some reason the trailer doesn’t appear there, it would probably be released later this year, possibly at The Game Awards in December. One thing’s for sure though, that we’re definitely going to get a real good look at Insomniac’s upcoming Wolverine title this year and likely sooner than later.
After Insomniac reinventing Spider Man gameplay for their last three titles, it’s definitely exciting to see what they manage to do with Wolverine who, just like the iconic webslinger, has a ton of potential for being a great gameplay driver which means Wolverine can be just as immersive and successful of a character action game as the acclaimed Spider Man games.
And though there’s not a lot that’s currently known about Insomniac’s Wolverine, it’s been described previously as a standalone title with a darker tone which fits perfectly with the theme of the iconic Marvel character.
The report from MP1st also states that Anti-Venom is going to be in the Venom game and instead of being operated by Peter Parker, it would be a “monstrous-looking version from the comics that Eddie Brock eventually uses.” It’s also revealed that Miguel O’Hara or Spider-Man 2099 will be featured in one of the future Insomniac Games which is likely going to be Marvel’s Spider-Man 3.
