After releasing a new patch, NetEase has officially launched its second major summer-themed update for the popular hero shooter, Marvel Rivals. The update became available on September 18, 2025. It introduces new content, including a battle pass, cosmetic items, and several technical improvements. The highlight of this update is the “Summer Special Vol. 2” event, which will run until October 17, 2025.
Players can now earn XP to progress through the new battle pass, which offers various rewards. A major addition is the free unlockable “Rocky Tide” outfit for The Thing. This outfit is available to all players who complete the pass. For those who want more exclusive items, a premium battle pass is also available. This version allows players to complete the pass at any time and includes unique rewards, such as the “Oceanic Harmony” costume for Mantis and the “Sunny Sizzler” costume for Human Torch. Additionally, new premium summer cosmetic bundles have been released for The Punisher and Invisible Woman. There is also a free, limited-time “Volleyball Bash” group emote.
Beyond the new cosmetics and events, the patch fixes several important issues in the game. Performance problems on the PS5, like rare performance drops and screen tearing, have been resolved. The replay data system now gives more detailed hero statistics, offering players greater insight into their performance. Many bug fixes are included, with notable corrections to hero abilities. For example, an issue with Angela’s “Giant-Size Brain Blast” ability, which caused an oversized head, has been fixed. Loki’s transformation from his ultimate ability now works correctly, preventing him from going back to his default costume when he revives.
The update also improves social features, with enhanced chat channels that support emojis and different font styles. These changes show an ongoing effort to improve the overall experience while introducing seasonal content to keep players engaged. The focus on both technical stability and new rewards supports Marvel Rivals as it continues its content development.
