Hollow Knight Silksong got yet another patch in the works, this will help stabilize some things in the game that weren’t quite there yet. Team Cherry has been working very hard on producing the game for so many years, but games like this, specially those made by a small team, tend to have some big issues. Back in the old days of gaming, this was very common for many games, the difference is that those issues were often very well tucked away and didn’t absolutely obliterate the game experience. Only the most skilled gamers could make use of glitches to achieve wild stuff in old games.
Hollow Knight Silksong gets more robust
There has also been changes to difficulty yet again. Which is ludicrous, there should be an option to make things harder instead of forcing easiness upon everyone who plays the game. There has been some boss nerfs, and honestly, it feels like the challenge provided by Hollow Knight Silksong is slowly going away if they keep up with the pace of casualizing the experience even further. It shows that many didn’t even play the original Hollow Knight, as they don’t know how to adapt to the challenges provided by Silksong.
Challenges are an essential part in video games, if not there wouldn’t be a game in the first place. If nothing provides a challenge, if nothing has a losing condition, then the only thing you end up with is just some interactive software that is unable to provide fun. Visual Novels and cozy games exist, people should go back to them if they don’t wish to deal with the realities of challenging games. People are requesting some nerfs to the runbacks towards bosses, but if you die to a boss then its on you, you need to adapt and persevere, true winners come from honing their skills at Hollow Knight Silksong and its various bosses.
