With the open beta weekends being over for the upcoming Battlefield 6, it’s going to be quite a bit of waiting till the first person shooter finally arrives in October this year. But if you’re currently playing Battlefield 2042, the period of waiting definitely won’t feel as long as EA has started a new ‘Road to Battlefield 6’ event that will provide a wave of new contents including a free rewards pass to celebrate the legacy of the Battlefield series with whole new gears, a reimagining of the game’s fan-favorite Iwo Jima map and tons of add-ons.
According to EA, the ‘Road to Battlefield 6’ will provide a total of 20 exclusive rewards for the upcoming Battlefield 6 which will be available and ready for all players on the game’s launch day. Which means you can unlock these weapons in Battlefield 2042 and they will carry over to Battlefield 6 as well, and they include the KFS2000 assault rifle and the Lynx sniper rifle along with the A10 Warthog and SU-25TM Frogfoot. Overall this seems like a really cool way of rewarding players of Battlefield 2042 in the upcoming Battlefield 6 which is definitely welcome.
And one of the biggest highlights in the Road to Battlefield 6 update is the Iwo Jima map which has appeared in multiple older titles in the franchise such as Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield V. The gigantic map will also feature an active volcano which will make tense shootouts feel truly spectacular along with boat landings, bunkers, and trenches that will provide enough room for full tactical warfare gameplay.
Then there’s also the Free Battlepass which offers 60 tiers of free cosmetics ranging from over 50 unlockables inspired by past titles such as Battlefield 1, V, Bad Company 2, 3, and 4 while also offering a total of 30 awards for the upcoming Battlefield 6 through different tiers.
The open beta for Battlefield 6 has been a huge success with over 520,000 players on Steam alone which pretty much guarantees the title being a massive hit when it launches on October 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
