Ready or Not is getting review bombed into oblivion as we speak, fans are mad that the game is being censored to meet console standards. PC gamers are upset that such a thing is happening in the first place, so the reaction is justified. Ready or Not is meant to be a game for adults, so controversial content being in it seems to be a thing that belongs to it, whether we like it or not, we have to ask ourselves the question if what was banned itself needed to be banned, if it ruins the artistic integrity of the game itself too. We at Infinite Start will cover this.
Ready or Not is getting review bombed en masse
It seems to be the common modus operandi of gamers to just start slamming a game after doing terrible things with it. For example, we have gamers bashing on Monster Hunter Wilds on PC for being a disastrous port courtesy of Capcom, and that one is pretty much justified. Things is, this one is kind of a complicated situation, the content in question was quite risque, but considering the audience for this game is people in the 30s, it does not make sense to actually ban such content.
Yes, it is a reality that minors are left unsupervised on the internet, getting access to things that are even worse than what was shown in the game, its common to see kids playing first person shooter titles with their voice chats enabled. The issue isn’t that companies need to keep content moderated, but the fact that games and other media seems to be treated as some sort of pacifier when it shouldn’t. There’s things for kids, and there’s things for adults, Ready or Not is definitely a very gruesome game that kids shouldn’t be playing, along with other first person shooters too.
