Developer FromSoftware has announced that Elden Ring Nightreign’s upcoming duo-mode update, also known as Patch 1.02, has been delayed due to the ongoing tsunami warning in Japan after a massive earthquake in Russia has triggered evacuations across the Pacific. The devs have announced the news on their official Twitter/X account, stating:
“Due to the tsunami warning following the earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula, we have decided to postpone the distribution of the Elden Ring Nightreign Patch 1.02, which was scheduled for today to tomorrow, July 31 (Thursday) after 10am CEST | 1am PDT.
“Additionally, the second cycle of Everdark Sovereign, which was scheduled to start at 3am CEST | 6pm PDT (7/30) tomorrow, will also be delayed until after the update file has been distributed.
“Thank you for your understanding.”
The tsunami warning in Japan is the result of a massive 8.8 magnitude earthquake off the Russian coast, after which millions of people have been ordered to evacuate coastal areas all across Russia, Japan, and parts of the US. In Japan, 1.9 million people have been told to evacuate to higher ground.
In other news of Elden Ring Nightreign, the game has been recently confirmed to have sold over 5 Million copies, which is a highly impressive feat for a co-op title.
Elden Ring Nightreign is a Multiplayer co-op experience with up to three players where you can either play it alone or be part of a three-player team. Set in a totally separate Universe, the game is set to bring back many older, classic Bosses from previous FromSoftware titles such as Nameless King and The Duke’s Dear Freyja. The game was a huge hit upon release with more than 3.5 million units sold so far along with a ‘mostly positive’ user review rating on Steam. Developer FromSoftware has also confirmed new additions in the multiplayer co-op experience such as 2-player expeditions and more.
However, players on the PC can download several mods that can enable 2 player mode in Elden Ring Nightreign right now while uncapping the framerate. So you don’t actually have to wait till FromSoftware releases duo expeditions for the game which could possibly take a bit of time.
