The upcoming Battlefield 6 is set to feature multiple classes where each class will have both passive bonuses and an unique active ability during a match, all part of how developer DICE is aiming to make the class system a key element in the game that’s going to make the overall experience more nuanced and layered, leading to much increased playability. And in a recent Blog post, DICE has detailed an in-depth overview on how the class system will play out in Battlefield 6, with the devs previously revealing that there won’t be class-locked weapons in the game which means you can use whatever weapons you like regardless of the class you’re playing.
DICE says there will be a Training system for each class where players will get to choose one of two Training paths with it’s own leveling system based on completing objectives or other ways over the course of a match, granting passive bonuses or unique perks based on the class. And upon reaching level 3 in Training, players will gain an unique active ability specific to their class. For example, someone in the Recon Class at level three will be able to call in a UAV that can automatically spot enemies for a time. Also, triggering a level-three active ability will reset Training to level two for players, after which they can start charging their active ability again. This system offers a fun and rewarding perk based effect that can drastically impact the course of matches, making it all the more satisfying to use.
DICE has also revealed the signature weapon class, gadgets and traits for each of Battlefield 6’s four classes where even though players can use pretty much any weapon they want, using a class-specific weapon grants additional bonuses.
It seems Battlefield 6 is turning out every bit as groundbreaking and enjoyable shooting experience as it can get which is great news for anyone who loves first person shooters.
