Capcom removes Denuvo from a niche game they released the past year. Denuvo is a piece of wasted software that eats your PCs resources with the promise to protect games from being pirated, the reality is that there’s still plenty of methods to play the game for free. The only thing that software does is generate loss in sales because people won’t access the game anyways, in fact, nobody really knew about this game thanks to Denuvo being a part of it. The reality is that the sales for Kunitsu Gami tanked due to Denuvo instead, which is ironic. We at Infinite Start will cover this.
Capcom removes Denuvo at last
This is only one of the many games that are affected by the Denuvo virus, Black Myth Wukong is an excellent example of a game that lost Game of the Year because it didn’t do that well in sales figures despite its success. Kunitsu Gami will now be able to be preserved and many are starting to realize that the game is indeed a hidden gem everyone missed out on. It truly is sad that such a beautiful tower defense game didn’t get the recognition it deserves.
Sometimes a ton of work is put into things, such as Cross Code, an indie title that didn’t find any success at first. Now that Capcom removes Denuvo from it, perhaps it will start seeing the popularity it deserves despite the fact that the profit period has ended. Companies often get more money from the first weeks of sales, after that it takes a plunge and never recovers. By adding Denuvo to your games, one would think that the line would only go up, but in reality, it falls flat even sooner, if you care to have a customer that buys things, you first need to remove the software they don’t want in their games.
