Resident Evil Requiem has dropped a bombshell trailer, and to top it all this happened during the Summer Game Fest. Some people speculated that Resident Evil 9 would be revealed, but after some masterful bait and switch by Capcom, another Resident Evil title got revealed instead. Meanwhile, we all know that the series that catapulted Capcom into victory, that being Mega Man, still get absolutely nothing. It would have been neat if Capcom revealed something, at the very least a pixel from a new Mega Man game, but its only Resident Evil and Monster Hunter. We at Infinite Start will cover this regardless.
Resident Evil Requiem drops soon
Resident Evil Requiem will come in February 27th of 2026, placing itself just a bit forward to ensure things are properly tuned. On release, we can expect that the PC version will run quite awfully, but we hope that they somehow manage to make things work day one. After what happened with Monster Hunter Wilds however, we can’t be sure that the RE Engine can fare on PC.
Grace Ashcroft is the protagonist in this title, and for non fans of the series this is a big deal. For those who are observant, you might know who this is, or who she is related to. If anyone played Resident Evil Outbreak, Alyssa Ashcroft would be her mother, and she was one of the main survivors in that game.
Sadly, the trailer reveals that Alyssa is pretty much dead now, and Grace Ashcroft will have to brave what her mother couldn’t. We will be able to see plenty of things, both new and old, in this new entry to the Resident Evil series. For those who have fond memories of playing Resident Evil Outbreak, Resident Evil Requiem might be a must get, but if you are on PC I would hold for a while before getting it.
