From Software games are often though, but the hardest bosses in Elden Ring Nightreign actually put up so many challenges that makes other From Software titles look easy by comparison. Being a cooperative centered game, the difficulty of the bosses are tailored for this sort of experience, and they are explicitly a crazy task to accomplish alone. While your mileage may vary depending on your experience with the series and other Souls-likes, the next list will have bosses that everyone will agree with in some point, including one that if you already faced it, you will agree that it shall take the number 1 spot.
5- Caligo, Miasma of Night
Caligo, Miasma of the Night might be a surprising pick for some, but do not underestimate it. When it gets wild, its special attacks can pretty much cover the whole arena and freeze you which is extremely dangerous if you aren’t prepared for it. Some of my runs have actually been ended by it, and the key is knowing when to roll through the seemingly lack of holes. If you played previous Souls titles, you know that rolling, aside from Dark Souls 2 where rolling works weird, actually grants you invulnerability for some seconds. Having that knowledge, the key to fight Caligo is to roll to avoid its massive attacks, avoiding the freeze at all costs.
4- Gladius, Beast of the Night
Popular for being the “tutorial boss” when it comes to the Night Lords being introduced to the game, Gladius is basically a Cerberus version of Sif from Dark Souls 1. There is however a ton of tricks that this boss has, and if you go solo, be prepared to actually suffer his trio attack, where he actually separates into 3 different parts of himself to unleash an onslaught of coordinated blows against you. Being based in melee attacks and melee explosions that happen during certain bits of his attacks, the best way to deal with him is actually using a Ranged combat build to finish him off. If you focus on dodging and shooting arrows, you will be fine. Beware of his nasty damage tho, as you can easily get overwhelmed by it and the speed at which they lunge at you when the trio attack mode is active.
3- Heolstor the Nightlord
Many will be surprised to see the final boss of Elden Ring Nightreign being placed in third place, but if you know about how From Software makes their games, most final bosses are actually quite easy compared to some other ones that come before. Heolstor the Nightlord is your last challenge before you finish a run. For fans of Dark Souls 2, you might remember a certain knight boss from a DLC that ended up being the hardest boss in the entire game, Heolstor takes inspiration from the Burnt Ivory King. There is a twist to Heolstor, as it pretty much becomes a flurry of attacks that does not give you enough time to react alone, when fighting it with a party of friends however, you will still have to work together to survive. He has 2 phases in total, and it really feels like a very long fight, one of the most dangerous attacks is one that he telegraphs pretty well, when he drops from the air, a burst of light will explode from the majority of the ground you stand it, roll away from it or die in one hit if unprepared.
2- Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow
A personal pick of mine, and many also seem to agree that Fulghor, Champion of the Nightglow, is really a tough boss to master. Much to the like of Heolstor, the boss stage of Fulghor also becomes an absolute chaos of explosions and various kinds of light particles everywhere. If we could use a word to describe this battle, I would use onslaught if you are doing it without your friends, beating this one alone is a proof that you have become a master of Souls-likes. Fulghor rushes through the stage and does not really give you a breathing room to attack, each time he stomps the ground, a shining wave of light explodes from most of it, so you have to roll quickly to one of your sides to avoid it. He also charges at you generating explosions in random patterns, but you can at least know when they will happen. Rolling is your friend, and you really wish to be an archer against this one if you are going solo. A slight misstep can put you in a world of hurt, I know it since it has been destroying some of my runs with friends.
1- Libra, Creature of the Night
Libra, Creature of the Night. You will learn to hate this one as much as the entire Elden Ring Nightreign community does, from forums to even the Steam community for the game, players say that beating Libra as a solo player is almost impossible. You don’t even get time to react to his onslaught of attacks, light bullets that basically rain through the whole stage and stun lock you if you get hit by them. This goat-like creature is a crazy one, and it seems that From Software has a thing for making goats the most annoying bosses in their games. First is the Capra Demon from Dark Souls 1, a hideously designed boss battle where the environment is your enemy, and now we have come full circle with having another goat demon that happens to be the actual threat rather than the stage. Many of my runs have ended with this one and when I reach Heolstor I always feel a massive decline in difficulty, this should have been the real final boss of Nightreign. Rolling is crucial, failing to time your rolls will end up in death, no matter if your team is full of experienced players too, everyone will struggle and be hit during this chaotic fight that feels taken out straight from a bullet hell game.
These were the Hardest Bosses in Elden Ring Nightreign
If you have different opinions, or even your own tips to actually beat them, especially beat Libra, let us know in the comments below. Remember that perseverance is the key to succeeding in this type of games, and that what matters the most is always having fun first. Challenges are also fun to tackle if you are with friends, and since the patches dropped to fix some things, I have been having fun at a friends house with Elden Ring Nightreign, for me this is a true challenge for Souls-like fans of every skill level.
