Gloomwood is getting a massive research update, PC players have been waiting for this since part one dropped. A ton of important changes have been added to the indie title, and this boomer shooter is blooming with new life, this is a very common occurrence for plenty of indie titles who are loved by their creators. Most importantly, as the title of this new piece points out, Research has a massive overhaul that is coming to the game. Research will allow you to get some permanent perks, such as speed boosts, and longer jumps, this permanent passives that will enhance the way you play. We at Infinite Start will cover this new and updated of Gloomwood briefly.

Gloomwood is getting big in 2025

If you were playing the game from before the update, you will notice a ton of things have changed indeed, even on older parts of the story, things like weather and music have been updated. The game has been out for around 3 years now, and this massive glow up is enough of a excuse to revisit it from the beginning, some enemies will change places, areas will be reworked, this feels as if the developers had the chance to retool the game with what they were planning to do for a while.

Another thing that was said about the game in the past, is that Gloomwood will never have access to such things as headshots, now that has changed, people can get that perk provided you actually use the reworked research mechanics now. So for those who are fans of sniping, you are welcome to try out Gloomwood, as it now has the popular mechanic that every other shooter had, new types of ammo have been added to allow you to reenact the most goriest fantasy you ever had imagined, it is your sandbox after all.
