Final Fantasy 9 is one of the most underrated entries in the franchise by far. The fact that we are about to get Final Fantasy 9 Remake has many people excited, however, many are worried about how this remake will pan out. Will it be a mess like Final Fantasy 7 Remake? Or will it be faithful to the original game as it should be? While many people don’t seem to care about the artistic integrity of a game and only want to consume a new fast paced bastardization, others still do care about quality. Final Fantasy 9 Remake confirmed
For fans of the original game, yes, we will have a proper turn based title after years now. This is a massive win for anyone who really cares about Final Fantasy as a franchise. Square Enix has been missing a ton of money with titles like Final Fantasy 16, even they themselves recognize that. They have also claimed that they aren’t particularly sure of Final Fantasy 17 will ever be a thing.
Not only is this remake keeping the gameplay intact from what its said, but it will also keep the artistic vision intact as well, partially at least. Instead of pre-rendered graphics, we will have still camera vision along with 3D environments. If you ask me, I’m quite iffy about this, since its pretty much just modernizing the pre-rendered aspect. If they manage to pull the correct feelings that the original game had with this, they will have my thumb of approval, but its a hard task to achieve.
While the modern audience might be angry at the fact that this game will be a “slow” non Fortnite experience, Square Enix has been losing lots of cash doing things wrong. Final Fantasy 7 Remake isn’t the future Square Enix needs, Final Fantasy 9 Remake is however.
