After the servers of Dune: Awakening were unexpectedly down for a couple of hours, developer Funcom has promptly released a Hotfix to improve server stability and address a number of technical issues that have surfaced since the game went live for “Head Start” players several days ago. While Dune: Awakening will launch for all players on June 10, the MMO is currently in it’s early access period for players who bought either the $69.99 Deluxe Edition or the $89.99 Ultimate edition of the game.
And here are the patch notes for the recent online Hotfix update for Dune: Awakening:
- Fixed an issue where certain player base placeables’ menu would fail to load if the player switched between placeables’ tabs in quick succession, using the Q and E keys.
- Fixed an issue where players could sometimes get a suggested server that was not the closest in the region.
- Fixed an issue causing players to be stuck in the Imperial Testing Station #002 boss room by removing the pentashield doors.
- Fixed an issue where NPCs in the Arrakeen social hub could sometimes get stuck in place.
Developer Funcom has also stated that while some adjustments to the online component of the game are set to take effect immediately, some will require further downtime. While it’s always annoying for servers to go down during a live gaming session, but as Dune: Awakening is still in it’s early access, the devs are expected to iron out more and more technical problems during this period in order to provide players with a smoother and seamless experience when the game finally goes live on June 10.
In other news of the game, despite still being in early access, Dune: Awakening has managed to engage around 100,000 concurrent players on Steam. Considering the game isn’t even properly out yet and it’ll be released on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as well, the player count will go even higher which indicates Dune: Awakening being a surefire hit when it finally arrives.
