Nintendo threatens Switch owners with bricking their systems

It seems that things only get worse in the gaming space. Nintendo threatens to brick your legally bought Switch in case you do anything funny to it. When this happens, you need to question yourself, do you own what you bought? Or do they own you? The answer is in the EULA and in all the places where you click “Accept”, each time you do that you are basically singing a pact with the devil, the devil being the companies that rot this medium further. Don’t like that? Too bad, this is the future, you will own nothing and be happy… Or is it? What other solutions are there that allows you to do as you please?

Nintendo threatens their fan base

In many places of the world, companies damaging the things you buy intentionally is illegal. Revoking access to something physical is dystopian, yet, we literally just live in one right now. While companies are busy doing their best to make our life miserable, their profits keep growing. Is the Switch selling because people can afford it? Or is it because scalpers bought it en masse to ensure they can get some good coin? We will eventually know that.

No real human being would consider buying such overpriced piece of hardware. The game prices are ludicrous and they will only get worse as time goes on. Mark my words, cause if we reach 2026 somehow as a species, we might see game prices being in the 3 digits. These are not the best times to be a gamer, thankfully, there’s plenty of alternatives, media from the past is way better than media from today. Back then, there wasn’t corporate influence in a big scale like there is now.

Artists were free to create and make cool stuff, everything felt natural and mysterious. All of that ended in the early 2000s, the brown era of shooters was only the beginning of the massive decline.
